waxing poetic, "gutter style" [ 2003-04-09, 7:16 a.m. ]

Do you ever feel that some days, some moments are transitional for you? That years later if you were watching a tape of your life you might point at the moment and go "eureka!". Is it only me who does such a thing?

Focus oh GutterPoet, focus...

Today's assembled dots that may or may not be connected successfully in this post, will now be bravely trotted out for display.

Most of us work constantly at self-improvement. Why half our economy is derived from this pursuit it seems. We work out to improve our bodies physically, we read self-help books, we look for the dream job, the dream house etc. We have more affluence than any people who ever existed on the earth. Yet so many of us seem discontent and unfullfilled.

I firmly believe that everything we need is right there in us all the time. We spend so....

I interrupt this narcissitic mish-mash and abandon it.

I was just passing through and saw U.S. soldiers and Iraqi citizens taking down a statue of Saddam in the center of Baghdad amidst what looks like a street party. The Dictator is done. May God smile upon the Iraqi people. Maybe this moment is much more momentus and transitional than I could have imagined at the start of this entry.
